Peter Mehlek, born in Syracuse, New York, is a 29-year-old graphic designer who dreams of social equity and justice, free healthcare, and longer fall seasons. Since graduating from the State University of New York at Oswego in 2017, his work has primarily consisted of digital illustration, typography, poster design, photography and much more.
Peter believes in living authentically and using his creativity to aid in personal growth. His aptitude in sarcasm and dark humor goes hand-in-hand with his quick wit and blunt demeanor. Not everyone always understands this niche sense of humor, but that doesn't stop him from expressing his ideas. Peter is also a mental health advocate, both in his personal and professional life. Mental wellbeing is essential, and advocating for those in need is part of Peter's mission in life.
Peter is inspired by the likes of Saul Bass, Eric Carle, Keith Haring, and so many others. He cherishes his periods of solitude, especially in nature, from which he draws much of his inspiration and comfort. Like many, art is Peter's main source of catharsis, which he uses to visually document and navigate his life.
In his free time, Peter enjoys mindlessly scrolling through social media, (gathering further inspiration), listening to music, playing video games and spending time with a small circle of close friends. Peter is a true Taurus.
"Art is nothing if you don’t reach every segment of the people."
- Keith Haring
